  • How are Custom Books for Kids made?
    After you submit your custom information, we print and bind the book for you. Here is more information on how the Books are made.

  • What type of information is "customized" in Custom Books for Kids?
    The exact information we use to customize your child's book is listed when you make your selection from the Custom Books for Kids Library. Typically, the book will include your child's name, hometown, age, the names of three friends or relatives, a dedication and the name of the person giving the book.

  • I'd like to read the story before I purchase a book... Is this possible?
    Yes. After you make a selection in the Custom Books for Kids Library, you will find a link to the full text of the book you have chosen. Just click on "view full text of book," which is located underneath the picture of the selected book.

  • What is the difference between "Deluxe size" and "Giant size"?
    Deluxe size books are 9" (inches) tall and 6" (inches) wide. Giant size books are 12" (inches) tall and 9" (inches) wide. (Graphic to the right illustrates size comparison.)

    Ordering FAQs

  • Ordering Online?
    Yes! Ordering online is secure and easy! Follow these steps...
    1. Find your book selection in the Custom Books for Kids Library.
    2. Enter your custom book information in the required fields and click on the PayPal icon at the bottom of the page to add the customized book to your cart.
    (If you are ordering more than one book, repeat steps one and two as often as desired)
    3. When you are ready to check out, click on "view cart" at the top or bottom of every page, then click "checkout" and proceed to the payment process via PayPal.
    4. After you have completed your purchase, we will email you the details of your order, including shipping address and total cost.

  • Ordering via Mail?
    Yes. Simply download the printable Custom Books for Kids order form. You'll need Adobe Acrobat to read this file. (If you don't have Adobe Acrobat get it here)
    (If you are ordering more than one book, you need to fill out a new form for each book)

  • What are my payment options?
    1. If you are ordering online... Custom Books for Kids accepts payment via PayPal. PayPal charges your credit card the same way any other business does.
    (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted. American Express Corporate is not.)
    2. If you are ordering via mail-order... Custom Books for Kids accepts personal checks, money orders and cashier's checks.
    (In U.S. currency only)

  • Is PayPal secure?
    Yes. PayPal uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. In addition, when you send a payment using PayPal, we do not receive any of your sensitive financial information like your credit card or bank account number.

  • Does it cost money to sign up for PayPal?
    No. It is free to open an account and send money using PayPal.

  • Will I pay sales tax?
    Only Illinois residents will be charged sales tax at 6.25%

  • What if a book I order is out of stock?
    If a book you order is out of stock, we will notify you by email as soon as we receive your order.

    Shipping FAQs

  • How long will it take to ship my order?
    Your order will be shipped within 3 on 5 business days after confirmation of payment is received.
    (Helpful tip: With PayPal, confirmation of payment is received at the same time you place your order!)
    Payment must be received before books will be mailed.
    (Also remember Holidays are high-volume times and may delay shipping of your books)

  • How will my order be shipped?
    Custom Books for Kids will be shipped using USPS Priority Mail. Shipping time is 2-3 business days.
    (If you would like rush delivery, please contact us to discuss the appropriate shipping options and costs)

  • What are the shipping costs?
    The USPS Priority Mail rate to ship 1-3 books is $3.95; 4-6 books is $5.95; 7-9 books is $8.95; and 10-12 books is 10.95.

  • The book I'm buying is a gift... Can I provide a shipping address that is not my own?
    Yes. When you checkout with PayPal, you can specify where you want your order to be shipped.

    Miscellaneous FAQs

  • There is an error in your book... Now what?
    If there is an error in your book DUE TO OUR MISTAKE, we will gladly replace the book free of charge. To help prevent errors, make sure to proof-read your orders (both online and mail-order). We are not responsible for errors due to incorrect information you give to us. We will, however, do our best to help you correct the error at minimal cost.
